Merimbula RFS (Rural Fire Service) took the opportunity to hold a 'get ready' event at the Merimbula Rotary markets on Sunday, 21 November.  Members handed out bushfire survival plans along with information for rural landholders and farmers for those who needed it.  The plans help to remind everyone of the steps they need to take to help make their homes safer in the bushfire season.

The NSW Rural Fire Service has recently released Burn Notification QR code cards. This means if you are planning on having a burn on your property you can scan the QR code that links to the Burn Notification page on the NSW RFS website to notify your local Fire Control Centre about your planned burns.  After notifying fire control about your planned burn, also remember to notify your neighbour's of the burn.

Scan the RFS burn QR code and it will take you to the online notification page where you can fill in your details and inform your local fire control of burn off plans.
