Members were very sad to hear of the recent passing of local electrician and Tura Beach resident Joshua Stanton.  Josh approached our club in 2019 seeking support to install defibrillators at Tura Beach and Merimbula that were accessible to the public 24 hours a day in case of emergency.  Those defibrillators are now installed on the external wall of the Tura Beach Discount Chemist and in the drive through of McDonald's in town. As well as being an excellent tradesman Josh was a great family man, a stand-up member of the community and simply a nice bloke. He approached his wretched illness over a number of years with bravery and humility.

Josh was taken far too soon by a rare form of cancer - Medullary Thyroid Cancer.  To read more about Josh's journey please go to https://north-foundation.raisely.com/joshua-stanton
where you can also consider making a donation to the Thyroid Cancer Research Unit at Royal Northshore Hospital.

Our thoughts are with Josh's family at this difficult time.
