BlazeAid Bemboka

 

BlazeAid, Bemboka is closing down due to a lack of volunteers, the remaining volunteers will re-join BlazeAid, Cobargo.  Two trailers were given to these two BlazeAid sites from a donation received from PNG (see article https://www.rotaryclubofmerimbula.com.au/page/donation-from-lae-funds-much-needed-trailers-for-blazeaid).  Our Rotarian, Andy, contacted the RFS to see if they could make use of the now superfluous Bemboka trailer.  Our club has agreed to convert the trailer into a portable water tanker with pump for fire fighting and we will also continue to pay the registration costs.  The RFS are delighted with the arrangement and it will certainly help them in any future fire fighting needed to protect our Community.
